Suzuki DR650 Platinum Fork Valve by Teknik Suspension.

Our brand new Platinum Valves turn the old school damper rod suspension into a system capable of supporting the modern adventure rider. With a special low friction sealing ring, complex flow ports and a tuneable shim stack, these valves will stop the front from diving under brakes and bottoming on landing, again and again.

Designed for easy installation, these 36mm cartridge emulators will get you back onto the dirt in no time. Whilst not absolutely necessary, we recommend upgrading the springs to suit your rider weight at the same time, have a look at our fork and rear shock spring options as well as our DIY fork and complete package deals.

Damper rod forks are famously easy to work on, but all the instructions are included just in case.

Please note: If you are replacing the fork oil seals and dust wipers, the high friction of the OEM seals will affect the performance of the Platinum valves, but will reduce after they are broken in.

NOTE – finally finally they are here, we’ve known these have been coming for twelve months or more. This has been an important project for the Teknik Motorsport Team, there are a couple very good well known valves currently on the market, one is already on our website. These rival fork valves have been continually tested and compared on computer based suspension diagnostic equipment. The challenge was set make the best fork valve possible available on the market today, it’s here it’s available now it’s called the Platinum Fork Valve !

Note – no we don’t sell fork oil due to not being able to send with Australia Post. Any brand will survive, purchase from motorcycle dealer, repco, autobarn, supercheap etc etc. Note we do three brands of fork valves, Cogent recommend 5wt with there DDC fork valve, Teknik Platinum between 5 and 10wt. FFRC between 5 and 10wt. Thinner oil moves through the valves easier, I use 7.5wt by mixing 5 and 10 together !

Note – clearly fork valves come as a pair, ie one for each fork leg as per the image !

Note – email conversation with Teknik April 2022 – prices will increase, the brass the platinum valves are machined from has tripled in the last two years, aluminum doubled and now expect bigger increases with current war crisis, steel has skyrocketed, shortage of raw materials, major delays in manufacturing, unfortunate as it is prices will continue to rise !
